The Workshop on Algorithms and Data Structures (WADS), which alternates with the Scandinavian Workshop on Algorithm Theory, is intended as a forum for researchers in the area of design, analysis, and implementation of algorithms and data structures.

WADS 2001 was held on August 8-10, 2001 in Providence, Rhode Island, on the campus of Brown University. The WADS 2001 proceedings are published as volume 2125 of the Springer-Verlag series Lecture Notes in Computer Science. WADS 2001 was sponsored by the Center for Geometric Computing and by the Department of Computer Science at Brown University, with additional support from John Wiley & Sons, Inc..
