Linux

The computers in the Sun Lab are running Debian Linux, an open-source operating system.

You can change the colors on your desktop, set a background picture, have more xterms show up when you log in, and much more by customizing your desktop. You will need to know about dot files when you do so. Use the Intro Tutorial appendix as a reference.

You will also need to know about Emacs and printing in CS 15.
