Assignments

Homework

All weekly homework assignments should be electronically handed in using the instructions on the assignment, or in some cases (homeworks requiring diagrams), placed in the handin bin on the second floor. Each homework will have instructions on how it is to be handed in.

For more information on all things PDF, as well as helpful LaTeX information, we've compiled a helpful page of goodies.

Homeworks are due BEFORE class the week after they are assigned. They will be graded and returned by the following Friday night.

If you are turning in a .pdf, PLEASE PUT THE SOLUTION TO EACH PROBLEM ON A SEPERATE SHEET OF PAPER.

Late assignments

For homeworks, every late day will cost you 10 points. This means if you are 4 days late on a homework, you will have a maximum possible score of 60. We will count every homework, there is no "dropping the lowest grade," as it were.

For Projects, each student gets 3 late days during the semester to use 'for free,' in that they are not penalized for them. At the end of the semester, we will optimally distribute the three late days as needed on your projects. After your three late days, we will take off 10% per late day, as with homeworks.

You will also receive grade reports via e-mail to keep you posted on your progress.

You were all given your passwords and hosts by email.
