28 January 2003 IMPORTANT! The comm handout has been modified in a number of places to hopefully make the assignment a bit clearer. The main sections to look at again are Sections 2, 3, 4, and 6. There was also a minor tweak to the assignment itself: the comm package should now handle decrementing a packet's TTL field and discarding the packet when the TTL goes below zero, not the ring server. Since this was a late addition, either implementation will be accepted, although this method is preferred. Thanks for your patience with us. If you are still confused, please don't hesitate to email the tas or stop by ta hours. Any suggestions on how to further improve the handout would be appreciated as well! |
|
