May  19 Solutions to the final exam questions are available here. Please note that you must be in the CS department to view the solutions. You can pick up your exam books from Ugur's office.

May  3 The slides with notes for lectures 16 through 21 are now available in 2 per page and 4 per page formats.

Apr. 23 The final exam will be held  at 9 a.m., Tues. 5/18/2004 in CIT Room 227.

Apr. 12 The slides with notes for lectures 12 through 15 are now available in 2 per page and 4 per page formats..

Apr. 7 Note that the Proxy handout has been updated to include information on killing servers. You are required to gracefully kill either single servers or the entire system.

Apr. 7 You should receive an e-mail from one of the TAs shortly about interactive grading for Sync and Quorum. If you don't hear by Thursday evening, please e-mail the TAs.

Feb. 25 Bunch of stuff to gear up for the midterm which will be in class next Thursday, the 18th. First are all relevant lecture slides compiled into a single place. There are standard slides, 4 per page, and 2 per page.. There are also slides with notes/comments, available in 2 per page, and 4 per page. There are also practice questions which are similar to ones which may end up on the exam. There are also answers to the practice questions. Finally all past quizes and suggested answers are available.

Feb. 25 We've decided to push back sddb's duedate to Friday at 11:59 due to the trouble with BDBUtil. Dates concerning Sync (the next project) are unchanged at this point.

Feb. 25 Many people seem to have run into problems using BDBUtil.get(). Several fix's to that problem have been posted to the newsgroup (see the "Problems with BDBUtil.get()" post).

Feb. 3 TA hours for this week have been posted on the staff page. When we know our schedules for the semester, we'll post the hours we'll be holding on a regular basis.

Feb. 2 First day's lecture notes have been posted. The lecture notes are only available from within the department or via remote login.

Feb. 2 CS138 will meet in CIT 368 starting tomorrow through the rest of the semester. In addition, anyone who hasn't turned in a collaboration policy should bring a completed one to class tomorrow to get the cs138student identity.

Jan. 26 The first meeting of the class will be held in Sayles 305. We may move the course to Lubrano afterwards depending on convenience and need.

Jan. 22 Welcome to CS138! The class will be held during the the I hour (T,Th 10:30 am - 11:50 am) in the CIT in a room to be announced. Check here for updates! In the meantime, if you want to see last year's site, feel free to take a look here. Note that we will be replacing the homeworks with occasional short in-class quizes. In addition, there will still be an option to take the course for graduate credit.
