Computational Molecular Biology (CS181/CSCI1810) Spring 2012
Announcements
  • The first day of class is Thursday, January 26th.
Course Overview

Meeting Time: Tues/Thur 2:30 – 3:50 PM
Location: CIT 345

Processing molecular biology data (DNA, RNA, proteins) has become central to biological research and a challenging area for Computer Science research. Important objectives are molecular sequence analysis, recognition of genes and regulatory elements, molecular evolution, protein structure, comparative genomics. This course models the underlying biology in the terms of Computer Science and presents the most significant algorithms of molecular computational biology.

The course text this semester is An Introduction to Bioinformatics Algorithms, which is available at the Brown Bookstore. The Brown library also has electronic copies available.
