Lab 9
The final week of lab (for Homework 9) will occur the week after Thanksgiving break.
Midterm Clarification
Your FSM for problem 1 must be deterministic.
We expect your algorithm in 3b to be deterministic.
In problem 5, we mean to say that a given c_i cannot be fully contained in any of {A, B}. Also, no citizen is allowed to play for both A and B.
Lab Assigned
Hi all, your lab sections have been assigned. You can find them here. Each Tuesday when a homework is posted, lab assignments will be posted on the website.
Handing in Your Homework
Your homework is due in the handin bin before lecture starts on the due date. We do not accept electronic handins because we will just print them anyway.

Welcome to CS051!
Join us as we dive down the rabbit hole into the magical world of computer science theory! This class, which is required for the Computer Science concentration, will teach you about important concepts such as Turing machines, languages, reductions, and NP-completeness. You'll also learn to play croquet with flamingoes, have a mad tea party, grow and shrink by eating magical substances, and avoid getting beheaded by the Queen of Hearts.
Lectures with Professor Savage (the Mad Hatter) are Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2:30pm in CIT 368. There is also a required lab section, with three choices of meeting times; details are on the Labs page. Attendance at mad tea parties is optional.
