Electronic Mail and News

For information on how to use news, execute man rn.

For information on how to use mail, execute man mail. We will set up mail aliases (csxxxheadtas and csxxxtas) for you if you provide the information we need in the files /course/csxxx/admin called Headta_aliases and Ta_aliases. The aliases will parallel the following examples:

The Headta_aliases file should look like this:
csxxx001,
csxxx002,
csxxx003,
The Ta_aliases file should look like this:
csxxx001,
csxxx002,
csxxx003,
csxxx004,
. . .
csxxx039,
Note that there are no spaces, that the commas are necessary, and that each entry is on a new line. Please do not make aliases refer to other aliases. If a TA wishes to have a different account receive mail (perhaps an account they log into more often) that account should be specified instead of their TA account in the Headta_aliases or Ta_aliases file.
