Some call it a "social networking website."
Some call it a "way to spy on your friends."
Some call it a "phase."
We call it a "Platform for Maximizing the Flow of Relevant Information."

Roughly 85% of 4-year college students use Facebook. 60% of all users log in daily. How the !#@$ did this happen?

- Hear the tale of how Facebook got its start, what it has become, and where it's going next.
- Discover what it takes to build a company like Facebook, considering everything from scalability to social implications.
- Learn what it's like for two recent Brown grads loving the entrepreneurial/tech world.

Facebook engineers Jon Warman '05 and Leah Pearlman '04 will explain what "Platform for Maximizing the Flow of Relevant Information" means and equip you, as Facebook users and computer scientists, with the necessary information to decide what Facebook is all about and why social networking is meaningful to you. There will be plenty of time for questions...you know you got 'em.
