Used to have good breakfasts and lunches. Often very crowded. I think it has gone downhill very much in the last couple of years. Now they seem to serve very greasy food that is not very tasty.

The Modern Diner
On East Ave in Pawtucket.

Good food, great atmosphere. A Rhode Island landmark - it's a restored depression era roadside diner. A very popular place - expect a wait on weekends.

Down City Diner
On Waybosset Street near Cherry & Webb

Excellent food at reasonable prices (comparable to the Modern). Very trendy retro atmosphere. The menu has a tex-mex theme. Very popular - they recently expanded into the adjacent storefront.

Plaza Grill
On "the plaza" off Atwells Avenue on Federal Hill.

A little pricier, but a more ambitious menu.

Rue De L'Espoir
Hope Street, a couple of blocks north of Wickenden

Fairly expensive but excellent breakfasts (expect to pay $10 for a large breakfast). They have freshly-squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, espresso, delicious home-made ketchup, and generally a fairly fancy menu, e.g. crab cakes on poached eggs with melted cheese on top.

Leon's
On Broadway a block or so from I95.

Like Plaza but in trendier digs. Everything on the menu is tops. Try the "Grilled Fruit-filled French Toast Croissant" Mmmmmm. Bring your parents here.
