The Taj Mahal and the Taste of India are opposite each other on Wickenden. Back in the old days there was just the Taj Mahal, but the owners had a falling out, and one of them left to set up the Taste of India. The food and decor is fairly similar in the two.

221 Wickenden Street, immediatly across from the Taj Mahal. Phone: 421-4355

Kabob N Curry
261 Thayer Street, just beyond Store 24. Phone: 273-8844

Curry in a Hurry
Thayer Street, underneath Montana's, a bit beyond Kabob N Curry.

This place opened in early 91, but it seems like a great place for lunch. The entrees are generally under $5, and the service is very quick and friendly. They do not currently feature many vegetarian entrees, but they might add more if customers ask.
