I had the crawfish chili (excellent) and the red beans & rice (OK, but better than Popeye's). Sharon had the same, so I can't comment on anything else. The only negative thing about the red beans is that they had the slightly burnt flavor that results from letting the beans stick to the bottom of the pot. Sharon said it got a good writeup from the ProJo.
The owner is from New Orleans apparently, and even though his partner is from Texas, they seem to know what they're doing. They also have other stuff like BBQ ribs. I encourage you all to try it out to help build up business.
It's downtown at 253 Weybosset, a little this side of the Providence Performing Arts Center, which isn't so convenient for Brown. It's open for breakfast and lunch, tho Friday and Saturday nites they stay open until 8pm for dinner, too.
