- [...] I though I might suggest Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston
for problems beyond the ususal check-ups, vaccinations, wormings etc.
Our Labrador Retriever got hit a few years ago by a small truck - his
foreleg was caught under the tire and dragged along the pavement. The
injury included loss of tendons and muscle, and bone abrasion. Our
local vet was extremely skilled and took care of immediate surgery,
including consulting with Tufts specialists (Lincoln Animal Hospital -
four stars! ****). Anyway, we went to Angell for a consultation and
found it was reasonably priced. They did a thorough check of the leg
and did not suggest any extreme and expensive surgery, merely some
medications and careful watching. I was very impressed and would
bring any serious situations to that hospital. Later I took a group
of high school students on a tour of the hospital and was again
impressed by the cleanliness, care and skill of everyone from vet
surgeons to caretakers
