Graduate Student Jobs
This web documents CS Department graduate students with official
duties. There are three different kinds of positions:
- Czars
- Volunteer positions entailing significant responsibility. Many
have committees of assistants, who, continuing the theme of Russian
nobility, are named "grafs".
- Khans
- Other volunteer positions.
- Mercenaries (or Mercs for short)
- Paid graduate positions, funded by the department.
Almost all graduate students are expected to volunteer some time in one
of these positions. In addition, there are a number of student positions
usually filled by undergraduates.
