Welcome to the web home of Daniel F. Keefe.

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Brown University’s Scientific Visualization Lab.

Overview:  My research is on interdisciplinary computer visualization. In particular, I am interested in graphics, computation, and interaction techniques to support science. Recently, I have been working on problems in biomechanics and animal locomotion.
Another theme is my research is a connection to visual studies (art, illustration, and design). During my time at Brown, we have built many bridges between our visualization group and the Rhode Island School of Design, including developing a cross-registered course, Virtual Reality Design for Science. Several of my publications address questions of discovering the best tools and methodologies for bringing artists and scientists together with the help of computers.
