I am a second-year PhD student in the Brown University Computer Science Department. Computer science, math, and visual art are my specialties, and the modes of thought involved in these practices have been part of my life since it began. As such I strive to combine them in my research.
I did my undergrad at Duke University, graduating with BSes in Computer Science and Mathematics. Before that, I went to The North Carolina School of Science and
Mathematics, a public residential school for dorks in North Carolina. A
lot of my work from these eras is available on the old papers page.
The wooded hills and fresh air of New Hampshire originally produced me (with help from my parents of course), and North Carolina knocked me into shape a while later. I love music, both listening to it and, more recently, creating it myself. While listening to music, I like to write code and proofs, cook, and drive long distances with and to friends (though generally not all these things simultaneously). I bike most places I can, and one of these days I'm going to moonlight as a Hollywood stuntman.
It always annoys me, as a visitor to academics' websites, when I can't find pictures of people to make sure that I recognize them. So, to help you out, right now I look somewhat like the picture on this page.
If you're looking for personal stuff, try googling me; I'm the only Jadrian Miles out there.
