About

I am currently a 3rd year Phd student in the Optimization Lab at Department of Computer Science at Brown University, under the supervision of Professor Pascal Van Hentenryck. My research lies in applying constraint programming tecniques for solving combinatorial optimization problems. In particular, I am now devising efficient algorithms for operations of set variables using the length-lex domain representation.

Before coming to Brown University, I spent a year in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, worked as a research assistant in Professor Jimmy Lee's research group. We investigated how different ways of constraints posting affect the search space.

I completed my undergraduate study with a BSc degree in the same university, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Government and Public Administration, with a disastrous academic result (something like 2.9/4.0). I ruined my grades by spending too much time in extra-cirricular activities, to name a few, I was a ACM Programming Team member (assistant team coach after graduation), the President of the Rotaract Club, the Treasurer of the Student Press and the Chairman of the Financial Committee.

Besides conducting research, I am also a blogger (more than 90% of entries are in chinese) and columnist for a hong kong newspaper, Hong Kong Economic Times. For more information or reference, you may refer to my CV or leave me an email.
