Mykhaylo Kostandov | Brown CS

Tibi gratias agimus quod nihil fumas

Please note: Since June 2008, I am on hiatus from Brown. I'll be at Google in Mountain View, CA in summer of 2008, and at Electronic Arts Tiburon in Orlando, FL in fall of 2008. If you need to contact me, feel free to drop me an email or call my cell.

Greetings!
I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. As a member of Graphics Group, I work at the Visualization Research Lab with Professor David H. Laidlaw.

My current research interests are in the field of scientific visualization, more specifically in modeling, visualization, and analysis of animal flight. I am collaborating closely with bat flight researchers in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (Swartz Lab, Dr. Sharon Swartz) and Engineering (Microfluidics Lab, Dr. Kenneth Breuer).

My other interests include human-computer interaction (with emphasis on interfaces and interaction techniques), immersive VR environments, animation (traditional, stop-motion, and CG), and post-production (VFX and sound).
