Our Programs

Students will be placed in a program based on their grade and CS experience.

Microbits

Learn about basic computer science principles such as loops, functions, conditionals and variables by building exciting projects using microbits and block coding.

Scratch

Learn the fundamentals of computer programming by building animations, interactive games, and more on Scratch.

Python

Learn to design and code algorithms in Python, focusing on core programming fundamentals and creating text based programs and games.

The Artemis Team

Ella

Ella Mohanram

Microbits Program Coordinator

Hello, I’m Ella and I’m a junior studying Computational Neuroscience! On campus, I'm involved in research of the functional characterization of neurons with a genetic mutation implicated in ASD and epilepsy. In my free time, I like to bake sweet treats, work out, and go to art museums. I’m super psyched to work with y’all!

Genevieve

Genevieve Chermside

Scratch Program Coordinator

Hi! My name is Genevieve Chermside and I am a sophomore studying Computation Biology. Over the summers, I get to spend my time working with kids as a camp counselor near my home in Philadelphia. During the school year, I work in a lab building a machine learning model to predict recurrence in cancer patients.

Hailey

Hailey Coval

Python Program Coordinator

I'm Hailey Coval, a sophomore studying computer science. Outside of Artemis, I can be found working as a full-stack software engineer, teaching assistant for Brown's CS department, or camp counselor at my overnight summer camp. I love board games, the Berkshires, NYT crosswords, rock climbing, and all things Taylor Swift.

Kaitlyn

Johnson

Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Johnson, and I am a sophomore from Apex, North Carolina studying Computational Neuroscience. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, hiking, and writing. A fun fact about me is that I play the harp. I am so excited to continue to volunteer for Artemis this semester and share my passion for computer science!

Olivia

Hello, I’m Olivia Tran! I’m a first-year studying Computer Science. I enjoy playing piano, taking care of plants, and reading. A fun fact about me is that I speak Vietnamese!

Alan

Alan
Nguyen

Hello world, I'm Alan Nguyen! I'm a first-year studying computer science with a focus in cybersecurity and education. One of my favorite CS memories was begging my parents to get me a "learn to code" book at the book fair; my passion runs deep! Outside of CS and education, I play the cello and love listening to music.

Julia

Julia
Miyasaka

Hi! My name is Julia Miyasaka, and I’m a sophomore at Brown University studying Applied Mathematics-Biology. Outside of Artemis, I’m also a chess coach/camp counselor. In my spare time I like writing, baking, and playing squash. I love coding, and I hope I can share my passion with others!
