Vermont: My Home and Favorite Place
The photo I used to have at the top of my homepage was taken in Vermont. Amazingly enough, my driveway is on the map!
NASA Ames
I spent the summer of 1997 working for the Model Based Autonomous Systems group lead by Brian Williams at Ames. I adapted the decompositional model-based learning technique Moriarty to exploit qualitative model information in physical systems.
National Library of Medicine
I spent the summer of 1998 working with Lawrence Hunter of the Lister Hill Center on a project to help discover transcription regulatory elements in the yeast genome. I made lots of new friends.
National Cancer Institute
I joined Larry Hunter, the section chief of the Molecular Statistics Branch of the Biometrics Research Division from June 1999-May 2000 to continue work on gene expression array analysis.
University of Colorado Health Sciences Center
In May 2000, I moved to Denver to continue work in Larry Hunter's group, working to create a statistical analysis pipeline for gene expression data, and developing novel techniques for inferring signalling pathways.
