CorporateTime Calendar

The department provides Faculty, Staff, and Grad Students a commercial scheduling product called Oracle CorporateTime. CorporateTime provides user and resource (departmental equipment, rooms, etc.) scheduling capabilities via linux, windows, macintosh, and web clients.

Client Software

If you are using a departmentally supported linux or windows machine, the software should already be installed. On a linux machine, you can start CorprateTime by running /usr/local/bin/ctime. The windows client should appear under the Start menu; go to Start->All Programs->CorporateTime and run the CorporateTime client. Your machine must be behind the firewall or connected to the department via the VPN in order to connect to the calendar server.

To use the web client, point your favorite web browser to http://ctime.cs.brown.edu. The web client is accessible both inside and outside of the departmental firewall.

If you work on an unsupported machine and would like a copy of the client software, please send an email to problem.

Initial Configuration

Before you can use CorporateTime, you need an account on the calendar server. If you are Faculty, Staff, or a Grad Student and need an account, please email problem. You will need the following information to configure a client:
  • Username: Your username is your first and last name, separated by a space
  • Password: Your password. An initial password will be supplied by Tstaff when the account is created.
  • Server: Our CorporateTime server is ctime.cs.brown.edu
If you need step-by-step directions for configuring your client, see one of the following FAQS:
