Setting for Field Trip

In this larp, you will be playing a member of Hope High’s class of 2024 on your sophomore year field trip to Splashtime Funplace Water Park .  You’ve been looking forward to this trip all year.  Who knows what possibilities await away from your parents and under minimal adult supervision?

School of the Future

The world has improved a lot over the last 15 years – especially for students such as yourselves.  The Supreme Commander’s trademark “No Child Left Behind” act has been amended and improved to guarantee that all students receive an excellent (and free) education all the way through college.  Humanities subjects such as music and history have been made obsolete in favor of math and sciences courses with real-world value. Job placement out of college is assured by the government.  Things couldn’t be better!

Your Class

Although the dominant attitude amongst students is one of serious work and study to honor one’s school, family, and the Supreme Commander, this view seems to have somehow passed your class by.  Perhaps it is the infectious attitudes of a few members of the class such as Abbie and her constant daydreaming or Claude being ‘cool’ and rebellious against the government. Perhaps your teachers just never made a lasting impression on you as to the importance of your education.  In any event, at the end of tenth grade, classes are split up as students are put onto college and technical tracks.  So your time together is quickly coming to an end and few of you are looking forward to the type of serious study you’ll be in for next year.
