Human-Computer Interaction

My research is to make interaction “simple” but not “simpler”.

The insight discovery stage is necessarily a creative thinking stage for the domain scientists. Therefore, it is important to design interactive data visualization. My purpose in designing interaction is to allow users to reach their goal in a shortest path if possible.

Two major methods include the following:

  1.     Avoid what people are not good at, such as free hand manipulation
  2.     Utilize domain knowledge to guide interactive system design
