Computational Methods for Biology

Not offered this year
Offered most years, last taught:

Spring 2019

This course focuses on algorithms and computational methods for problems arising in phylogenetics, functional genomics, and biological networks/systems biology. Students will be introduced to the theory underlying each method, relying on techniques from graph theory, combinatorial optimization and machine learning. In addition, students will learn how to apply these methods to real biological data.
