Large-Scale Networked Systems

Not offered this year
Offered occasionally, last taught:

Fall 2018

We explore widely distributed systems that take advantage of resources throughout the Internet. These systems leverage their large size and geographic diversity to provide bandwidth scalability, rapid responses, fault tolerance, high availability and diverse data collection. The course is based on the critical discussion of (mostly) current papers drawn from recent conferences. Projects involve simulation/implementation and performance evaluation.
